Dosing Pump

A dosing pump is a type of pump that transfers liquids into a system in a predetermined and controlled amount. The purpose is not to pump the liquid randomly or continuously, but to dose it in a measured and time-controlled manner.

Operating Principle

Dosing pumps are generally of two main types:

Diaphragm Pump
- It has a flexible diaphragm inside.
- When the diaphragm retracts, liquid fills the chamber (suction phase).
- When the diaphragm is pushed forward, liquid is sent to the system through the discharge valve (discharge phase).
- Backflow is prevented by the valve system.
Peristaltic Pump
- A flexible tube is squeezed by a rotating rotor or rollers.
- Liquid is pushed from the compressed part, and new liquid is drawn into the relaxed part.
- The liquid does not come into direct contact with the pump, making it hygienic and chemically resistant.

Time and flow rate adjustment: The pump can operate continuously or intermittently.
Backflow prevention: No leakage thanks to suction and discharge valves or hose mechanism.
